Brilliant Colors and Crisp Cool Air
Fall in Killington
Mother Nature paints the mountains of Killington with colors so bright and vibrant it will take your breath away. Warm sunny days and crisp fall evenings are best spent in the Heart of the Green Mountains. Fall is a perfect time to visit and enjoy the outdoors during the day and kick back at a bed and breakfast or inn for the evening. Take it all in by hiking the Long Trail, road biking our winding mountain roads, mountain biking our various trail systems, or riding the Gondola to Killington Peak for the most beautiful views around. Two of Killington’s most popular events take place in the fall: the Killington Classic Motorcycle Rally and the Killington Hay Festival. And autumn in Vermont is host to festivals, activites and events throughout the Killington region. FInd out more about Killington region fall events at Killington Chamber of Commerce.
Killington Classic Motorcycle Rally
The Killington Classic Motorcycle Touring Rally, which is the second weekend of September each year kicks off the fall tourist season in Killington, and attracts touring cyclists from throughout the Northeast for days of great riding and nights of great fun. The event has been named one of Vermont’s Top 10 Fall Events by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. For motorcycle enthusiasts of all stripes and abilities, this is a fun, friendly, comaradarie building event with great Vermont rides and hospitality. Not to be missed.
Killington Hay Festival
When’s the last time you shook paws with a 20-foot teddy bear? Or pet an 800-pound raccoon. How about ruffling the feathers of a 1200-lb turkey? It’s all part of the fun each fall when Killington merchants erect incredible hay sculptures as a celebration of fall and nod to Vermont’s working landscape. Among what you'll encounter are a caterpillar wearing ski and snowboard boots (lots of them), a giant Sushi roll, and a hitch-hiking penguin- anyone heading to the North Pole? Give him a ride!.
There are scavenger hunts and other family-oriented activities. You have to see them to believe them!
